Ghizer Valley is the westernmost part of the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. It’s capital is Gahkuch. Ghizer is crossroads between Gilgit and Chitral and also to Tajikistan via Qurumber Pass through Ishkomen/Darkut Yasin (which are connected via Shandur Pass). Ghizer is a multi-ethnic district and three major languages are spoken; Shina, Khowar and Burushaski. There are also Wakhi Tajik speakers in Ishkoman.
Ghizer is one of the ten districts of Gilgit Baltistan (GB). It is a blessed land with tremendous natural treasures. It is widely known as peace loving and deeply hospitable and natural beauty around the globe. Ghizer valley is also famous for beautiful lush green landscape, eye catching fresh water lakes and high peaks of Hindukush and Himalayas touching the sky.
Ghizer is a distorted form of the name ‘Gherz’ which means ‘refugees’ in Khowar. Whenever the Mehtar of Chitral did injustice with their people in Chitral and forced them to migrate towards Gupis. They were settled in the area between Chitral and Gupis and the area called Gherz and the people were called Gherzic. When Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto the President of Pakistan abolished the FCR and Rajgi System and made another administrative district comprising the Tehsils (Political Districts) then ame Ghizer was agreed and unanimously. We will cover whole Ghizer Valley in this trip including Khalti Lake, Gupis, Phandar Valley, Phandar Lake, Shandur Pass, Ishkomen Valley and Trout Fish Farms with shopping in Gilgit Markets.

You have to carry a few essential items for a smooth trip. An effective way to pack for a multi-day adventure trip to the outdoors is to categorize the list of essentials into a few main heads and make a carry on with main bag pack.
